Best Mid-Size SUVs With a Sunroof Under Rs 15 Lakh in India (2026)
A sunroof under Rs 15 lakh nearly always means a manual gearbox and a lower-mid trim. The Hyundai Creta EX(O) is the only confirmed option with an automatic (Rs 14,49,700) or a diesel (Rs 14,73,200). The Maruti Grand Vitara Zeta(O) is the cheapest checked variant that pairs a sunroof with ventilated seats, and the Victoris ZXI(O) adds a 5-star Bharat NCAP rating. The Volkswagen Taigun's roof at this price is a single-pane electric sunroof. Seltos, Elevate, Hyryder and Duster variant prices could not be read from the makers and are not ranked.
Seven mid-size SUVs have a sunroof on a variant priced below Rs 15 lakh that we could confirm from the manufacturer's own brochure and price list. The Tata Curvv Creative X+ is the cheapest at Rs 12,90,990, the Hyundai Creta has the most choice with five qualifying variants from Rs 13,14,200, and the Maruti Victoris ZXI(O) at Rs 13,69,000 and Maruti Grand Vitara Zeta(O) at Rs 13,89,100 each qualify with exactly one variant. The Tata Sierra, Volkswagen Taigun and MG Hector also make it.
Six of the seven fit a panoramic roof at this money. The Taigun is the exception: its two variants under Rs 15 lakh have a regular electric sunroof, and Volkswagen lists the panoramic one separately on dearer trims.
Mid-size SUVs with a sunroof under Rs 15 lakh
| SUV | Sunroof variants under Rs 15 lakh | Type, as the maker words it | Price of those variants |
|---|---|---|---|
| Tata Curvv | Creative X+ 1.2, Accomplished X 1.2 (petrol manual) | AeroView voice-assisted panoramic sunroof | Rs 12,90,990 and Rs 13,99,990 |
| Hyundai Creta | EX(O) petrol manual, S(O) petrol manual, S(O) Knight, EX(O) petrol IVT, EX(O) diesel manual | Smart panoramic sunroof | Rs 13,14,200 to Rs 14,73,200 |
| Maruti Victoris | ZXI(O) petrol manual | Panoramic sunroof | Rs 13,69,000 |
| Maruti Grand Vitara | Zeta(O) petrol manual | Panoramic sunroof | Rs 13,89,100 |
| Tata Sierra | Pure L (O) petrol manual | Panoramax voice-assisted panoramic sunroof | Rs 14,29,000 |
| Volkswagen Taigun | Highline Plus 1.0 TSI manual, GT Line 1.0 TSI manual | Electric sunroof (single pane) | Rs 14,41,900 and Rs 14,71,900 |
| MG Hector | Select Pro manual | Dual pane panoramic sunroof | Rs 14,94,800 |
Prices are ex-showroom, read from each manufacturer's own price list on 13 October 2026. Maruti prices are Delhi figures for single-tone paint; dual-tone paint adds Rs 15,400, which takes the Victoris ZXI(O) to Rs 13,84,400 and the Grand Vitara Zeta(O) to Rs 14,04,500. Tata's site prices by city and was read at its default location, and only its petrol manual prices were read.
How this list was built, and what was not verified
The test is narrow on purpose. A model counts only if the brochure or the maker's variant list names a sunroof on a specific variant and the maker's price list puts that same variant under Rs 15 lakh. A range that starts under Rs 15 lakh is not enough, because no SUV here fits a sunroof to its base variant.
Four mid-size SUVs have a sunroof on a mid-range variant but are left out of the table, because the maker does not publish that variant's price where we could read it:
- Kia Seltos: Kia says the dual pane panoramic sunroof is on every variant from the HTK(O). Its site gives a range of Rs 11,24,900 to Rs 21,56,900 and no figure for the HTK(O).
- Honda Elevate: the brochure lists a one-touch electric sunroof with slide and tilt from the VX, the third of six variants. It is a single-pane roof. Honda's page shows a starting price of Rs 11,80,000 and quotes the rest by city.
- Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder: the brochure puts a panoramic sunroof on the NeoDrive G(O) and V and the Hybrid G(O) and V. Toyota publishes no ex-showroom prices.
- Renault Duster: the brochure adds an electric panoramic sunroof at the adventure version. Renault's site showed only the range's starting price of Rs 10,49,000.
All four may well qualify. Ask a dealer for the variant price and compare it with the table. The Skoda Kushaq, MG Astor and Nissan Tekton were not checked.
Diesel and automatic prices for the Tata Curvv and Sierra were not read either, so the table shows their petrol manuals only. Mileage is quoted where the brochure prints it. Hyundai and Tata do not print a certified figure.
What each sunroof variant leaves out
A sunroof under Rs 15 lakh nearly always means a manual gearbox and a lower-mid trim. These are the trade-offs on each car.
1. Tata Curvv, from Rs 12,90,990
Tata lists the panoramic sunroof from the Creative X+. The Smart X, Pure X and Pure X+ do not have one. Two petrol manuals with the roof sit under the ceiling: the Creative X+ 1.2 at Rs 12,90,990 and the Accomplished X 1.2 at Rs 13,99,990, which adds ventilated front seats and a wireless charger.
The Curvv has a 5-star Bharat NCAP rating with 29.50 out of 32 for adults and 43.66 out of 49 for children. It is a coupe-roofed SUV, so sit in the back before you buy it for the view upward.
2. Hyundai Creta, from Rs 13,14,200
The Creta brochure marks the "Smart panoramic" sunroof as standard on the EX(O), S(O) and S(O) Knight, and Hyundai's price list puts five of those variants under Rs 15 lakh:
| Variant | Price |
|---|---|
| 1.5 petrol manual EX(O) | Rs 13,14,200 |
| 1.5 petrol manual S(O) | Rs 14,20,700 |
| 1.5 petrol manual S(O) Knight Edition | Rs 14,39,200 |
| 1.5 petrol IVT EX(O) | Rs 14,49,700 |
| 1.5 diesel manual EX(O) | Rs 14,73,200 |
No other SUV in the table gave us a confirmed sunroof with an automatic gearbox or a diesel engine below Rs 15 lakh. The petrol makes 115 PS and 143.8 Nm and the diesel 116 PS and 250 Nm. The E and EX have no sunroof. The wireless charger and ventilated seats come later, on the SX and SX Premium, both above Rs 15 lakh.
3. Maruti Victoris ZXI(O), Rs 13,69,000
The brochure gives the panoramic sunroof to the (O) versions of the ZXI and ZXI+ and to nothing else. Only one of them is under Rs 15 lakh, the ZXI(O) manual. The ZXI(O) automatic is Rs 15,25,000 and the ZXI+(O) manual Rs 15,48,000. The ZXI CNG at Rs 14,66,900 fits the budget but has no (O) version, so no roof.
The roof costs Rs 7,100 over the plain ZXI. With it you get a wireless charger with active cooling, a powered tailgate with gesture control, LED projector headlamps, cruise control and six airbags. You do not get ventilated seats, a head-up display, a 360-degree camera or a powered driver's seat, which are all on the ZXI+.
The 1.5-litre K15C petrol makes 103.06 PS and 139 Nm and claims 21.18 km/l. The Victoris holds a 5-star Bharat NCAP rating with 31.66 out of 32 for adults and 43 out of 49 for children, on its petrol and hybrid variants.
4. Maruti Grand Vitara Zeta(O), Rs 13,89,100
Again one variant. The brochure marks the panoramic sunroof (O) on the Zeta, Alpha, Zeta+ and Alpha+, and the Zeta(O) manual is the only one under the ceiling. The Zeta(O) automatic is Rs 15,24,100 and the Alpha(O) manual Rs 15,38,700. The Sigma and Delta never get a sunroof.
For Rs 20,100 more than the Victoris ZXI(O), the Zeta(O) adds ventilated front seats and Auto Purify with a PM2.5 display, alongside the wireless charger, 22.86 cm SmartPlay Pro+ screen and six airbags. Of the cars whose equipment we checked, it is the cheapest that pairs a sunroof with ventilated seats; the Curvv Accomplished X is Rs 10,890 more.
The weak points are plain. The Grand Vitara has no Bharat NCAP rating, no ADAS on any variant, and the head-up display, 360 view camera and powered seat are held back for the Alpha. Claimed mileage is 21.11 km/l.
5. Tata Sierra Pure L (O), Rs 14,29,000
Tata's variant card for the Pure L (O) petrol manual lists the Panoramax voice-assisted panoramic sunroof with auto headlamps and rain-sensing wipers. The Smart+, Pure and Pure L below it do not list a sunroof.
The Pure + L at Rs 14,99,000 adds ventilated seats, a powered driver's seat and dual-zone climate control, but its card does not restate the sunroof, so confirm that one at the dealer. The Sierra's Bharat NCAP result is 31.14 out of 32 for adults and 44.73 out of 49 for children.
6. Volkswagen Taigun Highline Plus, Rs 14,41,900
The only single-pane roof in the table. Volkswagen's brochure ticks "Electric sunroof" for the Highline Plus and the GT Line, and keeps "Panoramic sunroof with summer function" for the Topline and GT Plus. The Highline Plus manual is Rs 14,41,900 and the GT Line manual Rs 14,71,900. Their automatics are Rs 15,56,900 and Rs 15,86,900.
Both variants also have wireless phone charging. The 1.0 TSI makes 115 PS and 178 Nm and claims 19.98 km/l as a manual. If you want the panoramic roof you need the Topline at Rs 16,21,900.
7. MG Hector Select Pro, Rs 14,94,800
MG's brochure marks the dual pane panoramic sunroof and the wireless charger on every Hector above the base Style, and the Select Pro manual is the first of them. At 4,699 mm it is the longest car here by a wide margin and sits a class above the others, which is the appeal. It clears the ceiling by Rs 5,200, and the next variant, the Smart Pro manual, is Rs 15,94,800.
Which one fits which buyer
For the lowest price, the Curvv Creative X+. For an automatic or a diesel, the Creta EX(O), which is the only confirmed option for either.
For a sunroof with ventilated seats, the Grand Vitara Zeta(O). For a sunroof with a verified 5-star crash rating, the Victoris ZXI(O), the Sierra Pure L (O) or the Curvv.
If you only want a roof that opens and care more about how the car drives, the Taigun Highline Plus pairs a 115 PS turbo petrol with the smaller kind of sunroof.
If your budget stretches, our guide to the best SUVs under Rs 20 lakh covers the trims above these, and the list of mid-size SUVs with six airbags under Rs 15 lakh covers the safety side of the same budget.
