Mid-Size SUV Automatics With a Sunroof and Wireless Charging

Mid-Size SUV Automatics With a Sunroof and Wireless Charging

The cheapest mid-size SUV automatic with both an opening sunroof and a wireless charger is the Maruti Grand Vitara Zeta(O) 6AT at Rs 15,24,100, which also has ventilated seats, followed by the Victoris ZXI(O) 6AT at Rs 15,25,000 with a cooled pad and a 5-star Bharat NCAP rating; both have panoramic roofs. The Volkswagen Taigun Highline Plus AT costs Rs 15,56,900 with a single-pane sunroof, and the panoramic Topline AT Rs 17,37,900. Strong hybrids with both features start at Rs 18,43,900 for the Victoris ZXI(O) (28.65 km/l) and Rs 18,55,300 for the Grand Vitara Zeta+(O). The e Vitara is excluded because its glass roof does not open.

The cheapest mid-size SUV automatic with both a sunroof and a wireless charging pad is the Maruti Grand Vitara Zeta(O) 6AT at Rs 15,24,100, and the Maruti Victoris ZXI(O) 6AT is Rs 900 behind at Rs 15,25,000. Both have a panoramic roof. The Volkswagen Taigun Highline Plus 1.0 TSI automatic follows at Rs 15,56,900 with a smaller electric sunroof, and its panoramic Topline automatic costs Rs 17,37,900. If you want a strong hybrid with both features, the Victoris ZXI(O) at Rs 18,43,900 and the Grand Vitara Zeta+(O) at Rs 18,55,300 are the two we could price under Rs 20 lakh.

Plenty of mid-size SUVs offer a sunroof and a charging pad, but often on manual trims, or with one feature a trim below the other. This guide only counts automatics and strong hybrids, and only the trim where both features first appear together. For manuals and cheaper budgets, see our lists of mid-size SUVs with a sunroof under Rs 15 lakh and mid-size SUVs with wireless charging under Rs 15 lakh.

Prices are Delhi ex-showroom, checked October 2026, from NEXA's price list, the Arena Victoris price page and Volkswagen's own price list. Maruti prices are single-tone paint; dual tone adds Rs 15,400 on the Victoris. Efficiency and turning radius are from each maker's brochure.

How this list was built, and what was not verified

A trim qualified only if the maker's brochure shows both a sunroof that opens and a wireless charger on it, it has an automatic or strong hybrid gearbox, and the maker's own website prices it under Rs 20 lakh. Features come from the Grand Vitara, Victoris (August 2026) and Taigun (April 2026) brochures.

Listed but not ranked, because a maker price or a feature grid could not be confirmed this month:

  • Hyundai Creta. The brochure fits the voice-enabled panoramic sunroof and the smartphone wireless charger together from the SX, but the SX is a petrol manual only. The SX Premium is the first trim with both features and the IVT automatic. Hyundai's variant price table did not load for us.
  • Kia Seltos. Kia's variant list put the wireless charger on the HTK(O) when we checked on 13 October, but we could not confirm which automatic trims pair it with a sunroof, or read Kia's variant prices.
  • Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder. Toyota's prices were not available to us. It shares the Grand Vitara's hardware.
  • Honda Elevate and Skoda Kushaq. Not checked for this piece.

Excluded: the Maruti e Vitara. Its Alpha has a "Sunroof with Fixed Glass", which lets light in but does not open, so it fails the test even though it has a charger.

1. Maruti Grand Vitara Zeta(O) 6AT, Rs 15,24,100

The Grand Vitara reserves its panoramic sunroof for the (O) versions, and its charger starts at the Zeta. So the Zeta(O) is where the two meet, and the automatic is just Rs 1,35,000 above the Zeta(O) manual at Rs 13,89,100.

  • It also brings ventilated front seats, which no other car here offers at this price.
  • The engine is the 1.5 mild hybrid, 103.06 PS and 139 Nm, rated 20.58 km/l with the 6AT.
  • Six airbags are standard across the range.

Where it falls short: the Grand Vitara has no ADAS on any trim, and it has no published Bharat NCAP result. The head-up display and 360 View Camera wait for the Alpha.

2. Maruti Victoris ZXI(O) 6AT, Rs 15,25,000

The Victoris brochure puts its "Wireless Charger with Active Cooling" on the ZXI and its panoramic sunroof on the ZXI(O) and ZXI+(O), so the ZXI(O) 6AT is the cheapest Victoris automatic with both. It costs Rs 900 more than the Grand Vitara Zeta(O).

  • For that you trade ventilated seats (ZXI+ only on the Victoris) for a cooled pad and a 5-star Bharat NCAP rating: 31.66 of 32 for adults and 43 of 49 for children, covering the 6AT ZXI(O).
  • Same 1.5 mild hybrid engine and 6-speed automatic, rated 21.06 km/l.
  • Level 2 ADAS is available, but on the ZXI+ 6AT, from Rs 17,33,900.

Where it falls short: it gives up the Grand Vitara's ventilated seats at this price, and its head-up display is a ZXI+ feature.

These two are close enough that the choice is about seats versus safety rating. We would take the Victoris for the crash test result and the cooled pad, unless you live somewhere hot enough that ventilated seats matter more.

3. Volkswagen Taigun Highline Plus 1.0 TSI AT, Rs 15,56,900

The Taigun's brochure fits wireless mobile charging on everything above the base Comfortline, and an electric sunroof on the Highline Plus and GT Line. The panoramic roof is on the Topline and GT Plus.

  • Highline Plus AT, Rs 15,56,900: electric single-pane sunroof plus pad.
  • GT Line AT, Rs 15,86,900: same sunroof, sportier trim.
  • Topline AT, Rs 17,37,900: panoramic sunroof with summer function, plus ventilated front seats.
  • GT Plus Chrome 1.5 TSI DSG, Rs 19,16,900: panoramic, with the 150 PS, 250 Nm engine and a 7-speed DSG, rated 18.85 km/l.

The 1.0 TSI makes 115 PS and 178 Nm, paired since the update with an 8-speed automatic and rated 19.54 km/l. At 5.05 m its turning radius is the tightest here. Six airbags are standard on every Taigun.

Where it falls short: the Highline Plus sunroof is the small type, and you pay Rs 1,81,000 more for the Topline to get a panoramic roof. There is no hybrid option.

4. Strong hybrids: Victoris ZXI(O) or Grand Vitara Zeta+(O)

If you drive a lot in traffic, these two are the ones to look at. The same rule applies as on the petrol cars: the panoramic sunroof is reserved for (O) versions.

Strong hybrid with both featuresPriceEfficiencyAlso on this trim
Victoris ZXI(O)Rs 18,43,90028.65 km/lCooled pad, 5-star Bharat NCAP
Grand Vitara Zeta+(O)Rs 18,55,30027.97 km/lVentilated front seats
Grand Vitara Alpha+(O)Rs 19,62,00027.97 km/lAdds head-up display
Victoris ZXI+(O)Rs 19,98,90028.65 km/lAdds ventilated seats

Both use the same system, rated 85 kW (115.56 PS) total on the Grand Vitara, with an e-CVT. Maruti's Grand Vitara brochure fits no paddle shifters to any strong hybrid.

All-wheel drive with both features

The two Maruti AWD automatics also qualify, and both have the panoramic roof and pad:

  • Grand Vitara Alpha(O) ALLGRIP, Rs 18,62,600, rated 19.20 km/l.
  • Victoris ZXI+(O) AllGrip, Rs 19,26,900, rated 19.07 km/l.

Neither has low-range gearing.

Which one to buy

  • Lowest price: Grand Vitara Zeta(O) 6AT, with ventilated seats thrown in.
  • Best safety evidence: Victoris ZXI(O) 6AT, for Rs 900 more.
  • Best to drive: Taigun Topline AT if you want the panoramic roof, or Highline Plus AT if a smaller sunroof is fine.
  • Lowest running cost: Victoris ZXI(O) strong hybrid at 28.65 km/l.

A practical note on both features: open the sunroof at highway speed on the test drive to judge wind noise, and put your own phone, in its case, on the pad. If ADAS matters too, our list of mid-size SUVs with ADAS and a sunroof under Rs 20 lakh is the better starting point, and our panoramic sunroof SUVs under Rs 20 lakh covers manuals too.
