10 Best SUVs With 6 Airbags Under Rs 30 Lakh in India (2026)
The extra headroom over Rs 25 lakh does not buy a different class of SUV. It buys the Tata Harrier, the only car here with two independent 5-star results including 45 of 49 at Global NCAP, and the top variants of the Thar Roxx, XUV 7XO, Sierra and Seltos where the full driver-assistance suites sit. What it still does not buy is a crash-tested Grand Vitara, Fronx or Jimny: those three are untested at any price.
Ten SUVs fit six airbags to every variant and sit entirely under Rs 30 lakh. Seven hold 5-star Bharat NCAP ratings, led by the Kia Seltos at 31.70 out of 32 for adults and 45 out of 49 for children. The Maruti Victoris is next on 31.66, and the Tata Harrier is the only car here with 5-star results from both Bharat NCAP and Global NCAP.
What the extra headroom over a Rs 25 lakh budget actually buys is not a different class of SUV. It is the Tata Harrier, which does not fit under Rs 25 lakh in its better trims, and the top variants of the Thar Roxx, XUV 7XO, Sierra and Seltos, where the full driver-assistance suites live.

The seven with a crash-test result

Maruti Victoris
31.66 out of 32 and 43 for children at Bharat NCAP, plus 33.72 out of 34 and 41 out of 49 at Global NCAP. Six airbags on every variant, with the rating running from the LXI to the ZXI+ 4WD.
The 1.5 K15C makes 103.06 PS and 139 Nm, the strong hybrid pairs a 92.45 PS engine with a motor for a claimed 28.65 km/l, and the S-CNG makes 87.8 PS at 27.02 km/kg. Level 2 assistance on the ZXI+ automatics from Rs 17.49 lakh, with AllGrip Select available on the petrol automatic. The S-CNG sits outside the rating.
Tata Sierra
31.14 out of 32 and 44.73 out of 49. A 1.5 petrol with 106 PS and 145 Nm, a 1.5 turbo petrol around 160 PS and a 1.5 diesel around 118 PS.
Level 2 from the Accomplished, with adaptive cruise, lane centring, advanced steering assist, traffic sign recognition, intelligent speed assist and a rear collision warning. Triple screens including a co-passenger display, ventilated seats and a panoramic sunroof on the top trims.
Mahindra Thar Roxx
31.09 out of 32 and a full 45 out of 49 on a ladder-frame off-roader, with 226 mm of ground clearance, the most here. The 2.0 turbo petrol makes up to 174 bhp and 380 Nm, the 2.2 diesel up to 172 bhp and 400 Nm, returning 12.4 to 15.2 km/l.
Under Rs 30 lakh the whole range is in reach, including the 4XPLOR four-wheel-drive system with electronic brake-locking and locking differentials, CrawlSmart auto crawl, IntelliTurn, 650 mm of wading depth and a 41.7 degree approach angle, alongside the Level 2 suite.
Mahindra XUV 7XO
30.76 out of 32 and 44.97 out of 49, the only SUV here offering six or seven seats. Six airbags standard with a seventh knee airbag on the AX7 Tech and AX7 L, which also carry Level 2 assistance and a 540-degree camera with blind view monitor.
The 2.0 turbo petrol makes about 203 hp and 380 Nm, the 2.2 diesel about 185 hp with up to 450 Nm, returning roughly 13 to 17 km/l.
Maruti Brezza
The cheapest 5-star car here at Rs 7.50 lakh, scoring 30.41 out of 32 and 43 out of 49, with the rating covering the 1.5 petrol manual and automatic and the 1.0 turbo manual. The 1.5 K15C makes 103.05 PS and 139 Nm, the 1.0 K10C turbo 110.12 PS and 170 Nm, and the S-CNG 87.8 PS at 26.90 km/kg.
No ADAS at any price, though the ZXi+ bundles blind spot warning, rear cross-traffic alert, safe exit warning, a 360-degree camera and a head-up display. The S-CNG is outside the rating.
Tata Harrier
The only SUV here with 5 stars from both programmes: 30.08 out of 32 and 44.54 out of 49 at Bharat NCAP in December 2023, and 33.05 out of 34 with a full 45 out of 49 at Global NCAP in 2023.
Six airbags standard, seven with a driver knee airbag from the Fearless X Plus. The 2.0 Kryotec diesel makes about 168 bhp and 350 Nm, claiming up to 16.8 km/l, with Level 2 assistance on the automatics from the Adventure X Plus.
One thing to keep straight: this is the petrol and diesel Harrier. The electric Harrier EV has its own, higher Bharat NCAP result, and the two do not transfer between the cars.
The three without one
All three are Maruti, and all three have six airbags on every variant confirmed in Maruti's own brochures. What they lack is an independent crash score.
Maruti Grand Vitara, Rs 10.77 lakh to Rs 19.72 lakh. The 1.5 petrol makes 103.06 PS and 139 Nm, the strong hybrid 92.45 PS for a claimed 27.97 km/l, and the S-CNG 26.6 km/kg, with AllGrip Select four-wheel drive on the petrol automatic. A 360-degree camera, head-up display, ventilated seats and a panoramic sunroof on the Alpha.
Maruti Fronx, Rs 6.90 lakh to Rs 11.89 lakh. The cheapest SUV here and the CNG leader at 28.51 km/kg. The 1.2 Dual Jet makes 89.73 PS and 113 Nm and the 1.0 Boosterjet turbo 100.06 PS and 147.6 Nm, claiming up to 22.89 km/l.
Maruti Jimny, Rs 12.59 lakh to Rs 14.52 lakh. The 1.5 K15B makes 77.1 kW (104.8 PS) and 134.2 Nm, claiming 16.94 km/l manual and 16.39 km/l automatic, with ALLGRIP PRO four-wheel drive and a low-range transfer gear. It seats four.
What Rs 30 lakh changes
It brings the Harrier into play. It is the only SUV here with two independent 5-star results, and its 45 out of 49 at Global NCAP is the best child figure on this page from either programme.
It uncaps the off-roaders. The Thar Roxx's full 4XPLOR system and the XUV 7XO's seven-airbag, Level 2 trims both sit above Rs 20 lakh, so this is the budget where they become reachable.
It still does not buy a tested Grand Vitara, Fronx or Jimny. Those three remain untested at any price, which is a straightforward fact to weigh rather than a flaw to argue about.
