Every SUV in India With Dolby Atmos, and the Variant You Need (2026)

Dolby Atmos is a licensed decoder, not a synonym for premium audio, so the filter used here is simple: the manufacturer has to name the format against a named variant in its own brochure. That leaves thirteen SUVs. Speaker counts vary wildly behind the same badge, from six speakers on the Mahindra XUV 3XO REVX A to sixteen Harman Kardon speakers on the BE 6, XEV 9e, XEV 9S and XUV 7XO, and twelve JBL Black speakers on the Tata Sierra at Rs 17,99,000. Mahindra publishes a model range rather than a per-pack price for its electric SUVs, so three entries name the pack without a first-party price, and Tata's Safari price page would not render a variant ladder.

Thirteen SUVs on sale in India carry a factory Dolby Atmos decoder, and with one exception every one of them is a Mahindra or a Tata. The cheapest is the Mahindra XUV 3XO REVX A at Rs 11,27,500. The exception is the Maruti Victoris, which fits it to the ZXi+ and ZXi+ (O) from Rs 15,38,900 and is the only Maruti with it, and the only SUV from outside those two brands that has it at all.

That short sentence is most of the story. No Hyundai, Kia, Toyota, Honda, MG, Skoda, Volkswagen, Renault, Nissan or Citroen SUV sold in India lists Dolby Atmos in its brochure. Plenty of them have branded premium audio, and a premium audio badge is not the same thing.

What counts as Dolby Atmos, and what does not

Dolby Atmos is a licensed object-based audio format. A car that has it carries a decoder that can place sounds in three dimensions rather than mixing everything down to left and right, and the manufacturer has to say so, because the name is Dolby's trademark and the use of it is contractual.

An eight-speaker Harman system, a nine-speaker JBL system or a Bose setup is not Dolby Atmos unless the brochure says Dolby Atmos. That distinction is the whole filter used here: a car qualifies only if its own manufacturer names the format in the brochure or feature grid against a specific variant. Speaker counts and brand names are listed below as context, not as evidence.

Two practical caveats before the list. The effect needs content encoded for it, which in a car means an Atmos track in a supporting app rather than an ordinary stereo stream. And in every single case here it is a higher-trim feature, so the badge on the model tells you nothing until you check the variant.

Prices are ex-showroom and were read on 15 October 2026 from each manufacturer's own price page or price feed. Mahindra publishes a range rather than a per-pack ex-showroom price for the BE 6, XEV 9e and XEV 9S on its electric SUV site, so those rows carry the model's starting figure and a note that the Dolby pack costs more than that.

The cheapest one, and why it is a Mahindra

The XUV 3XO is where this feature stopped being a luxury item. Mahindra's variant walk puts Dolby Atmos in four columns: AX5L, REVX A, AX7 and AX7L. REVX A is the cheapest of them at Rs 11,27,500 for the petrol, and it builds on the AX5 by adding the Skyroof, black leatherette seats and the dual-tone roof alongside the sound.

The honest qualifier is the hardware behind it. On the AX5L and REVX A the Dolby decoder is running through a six-speaker setup. The Harman Kardon system with amplifier and subwoofer belongs to AX7 at Rs 12,19,500 and AX7L at Rs 13,32,500, and that is where the format has enough speakers to do something with. If the sound is the reason you are buying, the AX5L is the entry ticket and the AX7 is the car.

Elsewhere the 3XO is a 1.2-litre affair: 82 kW and 200 Nm from the TCMPFi turbo petrol, 96 kW and 230 Nm from the TGDi, 85.8 kW and 300 Nm from the 1.5 diesel, with a 364-litre boot on a 2,600 mm wheelbase. Six airbags and stability control are standard from the MX1.

The electric XUV 3XO EV comes in two trims and puts Dolby Atmos on the upper one, the AX7L at Rs 14,95,999, where it runs a seven-speaker Harman Kardon system with an amplifier and a subwoofer. The 39.4 kWh pack is rated 351 km on the combined MIDC cycle and 456 km on the city cycle.

Maruti Victoris ZXi+, Rs 15,38,900

The Victoris is the only Maruti of any body style with Dolby Atmos, and Maruti calls it the Dolby Atmos Spatial Sound Experience, running through eight speakers from Infinity by Harman with a centre speaker and a subwoofer.

The brochure grid is strict about it. The Victoris feature list ticks Dolby Atmos for ZXi+ and ZXi+ (O) and leaves LXi, VXi, ZXi and ZXi (O) blank, and it sits in the same block as the head-up display, the 360-degree HD camera with 11 views and the ventilated front seats. So Rs 15,38,900 for the ZXi+ petrol manual is the cheapest way into it, and the ZXi at Rs 13,61,900 gets you the powered tailgate and the wireless charger but not the sound.

The rest of the ZXi+ package: the 1.5-litre K15C petrol at 75.8 kW (103.06 PS) and 139 Nm, 21.18 km/l on the manual and 21.06 km/l on the automatic, six airbags standard across the range, and a 5-star Bharat NCAP result of 31.66 out of 32 for adults and 43 out of 49 for children. Level 2 ADAS is a separate decision: it needs the ZXi+ 6AT at Rs 17,33,900 and it is never offered on the strong hybrid.

The Victoris is also the only car in this list offered with a CNG tank. The S-CNG tops out at the ZXi, which means a Victoris buyer cannot have Dolby Atmos and CNG in the same car.

Mahindra Thar Roxx AX7L, Rs 19,57,000

Mahindra fits the Harman Kardon Quantum Logic system with Dolby Atmos to the AX7L, and the feature grid carries a footnote that is easy to miss: the STAR EDN, which also gets the Harman Kardon audio, does not get Dolby Atmos. Everything below, MX1 through AX5L, runs four or six plain speakers.

The cheapest AX7L is the diesel manual two-wheel-drive at Rs 19,57,000. The petrol automatic is Rs 19,99,500 and the four-wheel-drive automatic Rs 23,52,500. It is the only body-on-frame off-roader in this list, which makes the pairing of a cinema audio format with low-range gearing a slightly odd one, and the trade-off is the usual Thar Roxx trade-off: weight, and a fuel figure well below anything else here.

The three Mahindra electric SUVs

The BE 6, XEV 9e and XEV 9S all run a 16-speaker Harman Kardon system with Dolby Atmos, and all three put it one step above the base pack.

On the BE 6 the grid shows Dolby Atmos arriving with Pack Two, alongside the leatherette interior and the 540-degree camera. The range starts at Rs 19,45,000 and runs to Rs 26,95,000, with battery options of 59, 70 and 79 kWh and MIDC range claims of 573 km, 651 km and 708 km.

On the XEV 9e the row reads as a dash for Pack One and standard for Pack Two, Pack Three Select and Pack Three. The range is Rs 21,90,000 to Rs 30,50,000. Pack Three adds Dolby Vision alongside the Atmos and the VisionX augmented-reality head-up display, so the top car is the one that makes most of the entertainment claim.

The XEV 9S follows the same pattern from Pack Two Above, with a range of Rs 20,65,000 to Rs 29,95,000 and a 527-litre boot with the third row folded.

What Mahindra does not do on its electric SUV site is publish an ex-showroom price per pack. The configurator returns the model range and then quotes on booking, so the figures above are starting prices for the model, and the pack that carries Dolby Atmos costs more than that in every case.

Mahindra XUV 7XO AX7 TECH, Rs 21,79,000

The XUV 7XO's variant walk puts a 16-speaker Harman Kardon system and Dolby Atmos in the AX7 TECH column, along with Level 2 ADAS with Sense+, 3D immersive sound, a nine-band equaliser and vehicle noise compensation. The AX7 LUXURY above it adds Dolby Vision to the Atmos, which Mahindra presents as a first for an Indian car.

The cheapest AX7 TECH is the diesel at Rs 21,79,000, with the petrol from Rs 22,75,999 and the diesel all-wheel-drive at Rs 23,99,000. AX7 LUXURY starts at Rs 23,40,499. Note that the trim is called AX7 TECH and AX7 LUXURY, not AX7L, which is a different Mahindra badge used on the 3XO and the Thar Roxx.

The Tatas

Tata runs Dolby Atmos through JBL rather than Harman Kardon, and on the Harrier, Safari and Harrier.ev it arrives as part of what Tata markets as the Theatre Maax experience, built around a 36.9 cm Samsung Neo QLED screen.

The Sierra is the one to know about. Tata's Sierra brochure puts Dolby Atmos in the Accomplished column, alongside Level 2 ADAS and the HypAR head-up display, running through 12 JBL Black speakers with a centre speaker, a subwoofer and a SonicShaft soundbar. At Rs 17,99,000 for the petrol manual that is the cheapest 12-speaker Dolby setup in the country and the cheapest Tata with the format. The Sierra.ev follows the same pattern one step lower in its own range, with Dolby Atmos landing on the Adventure 63 at Rs 20,99,000.

On the petrol and diesel Harrier the format waits until the Fearless Ultra at Rs 22,94,990, one step above the Fearless X+, and runs through 10 JBL speakers with a centre speaker and subwoofer. The Harrier.ev puts it on the Empowered 75 at Rs 27,79,000.

The Safari puts it on the Accomplished Ultra at Rs 23,64,990, two trims above the Accomplished X, and the six-seat Accomplished Ultra 6S is Rs 23,74,990. On both the Harrier and the Safari the trim one step down gets the same 10-speaker JBL hardware without the Dolby licence, which is a useful thing to know when a salesperson shows you the speaker count.

What we could not verify

Mahindra does not publish per-pack ex-showroom prices for the BE 6, XEV 9e or XEV 9S, so three rows in the table carry the model's starting price with the pack named rather than priced. We would rather say that than estimate.

Tata publishes only one price per trim family on its price pages, leaving automatics, diesels and the dark editions blank, so several Tata figures here come from Tata's own compare tool instead. Note also that the first Sierra PDF Tata serves is an accessories catalogue with no feature grid; the figures here come from the full Sierra brochure, which is a separate file.

Nothing here is based on a listening test. Speaker counts, trim mapping and prices come from manufacturer documents; how good any of these systems actually sounds is a different question. If the wider infotainment package matters more than the audio format, our guide to SUV infotainment with wireless CarPlay and Android Auto covers screens, mirroring and connected features across the same price band.

Frequently asked questions

Which is the cheapest SUV in India with Dolby Atmos?

The Mahindra XUV 3XO REVX A at Rs 11,27,500 ex-showroom, followed by the XUV 3XO AX5L at Rs 12,02,500. Both run the decoder through six speakers; the Harman Kardon system with a subwoofer starts at the AX7 at Rs 12,19,500.

Which Maruti cars have Dolby Atmos?

Only the Victoris, and only the ZXi+ and ZXi+ (O) from Rs 15,38,900. Maruti pairs it with an eight-speaker Infinity by Harman system. No other Maruti or NEXA model lists the format, including the Grand Vitara, Brezza, Fronx, Jimny and e Vitara.

Do any Hyundai, Kia or Toyota SUVs have Dolby Atmos?

Not in India. Their brochures list branded premium audio systems, Bose on some Kias and the Meridian system on the EV6 and EV9, but none of them names Dolby Atmos against a variant. The format here is a Mahindra and Tata thing, plus the one Maruti.

Is Dolby Atmos in a car the same as Dolby Atmos in a cinema?

It uses the same object-based format, but a car cabin has no ceiling speakers in the cinema sense, so the height effects are created by tuning and by speaker placement in the pillars and dashboard. You also need an Atmos-encoded track playing through a supporting app. An ordinary stereo stream will sound better through a 16-speaker system than a six-speaker one, Atmos or not.

Does the number of speakers matter more than the badge?

For most buyers, yes. A six-speaker Dolby setup on an XUV 3XO AX5L and a 16-speaker Harman Kardon Dolby setup on an XEV 9e are different products wearing the same logo. The badge tells you the decoder is there; the speaker count tells you what it has to work with.

Can I get Dolby Atmos with a CNG car?

No. The only CNG SUV in this list is the Victoris, and its S-CNG range stops at the ZXi, one step below the ZXi+ that carries the sound system.
