7-Seater MUVs With a Panoramic Sunroof and Ventilated Seats: The Variant That Has Both

7-Seater MUVs With a Panoramic Sunroof and Ventilated Seats: The Variant That Has Both

On most 7-seater MUVs the panoramic sunroof and the ventilated front seats arrive on different trims, so a car can have the roof and no seat cooling. The Invicto and the BYD eMAX 7 put both on one variant; the Kia Carens Clavis, Clavis EV and Innova Hycross make you climb two or three trims for the second feature. The Kia Carnival and Toyota Vellfire are excluded because both makers describe a dual sunroof, not a panoramic one, and the Ertiga, Rumion, Triber and Innova Crysta have no sunroof on any variant.

Asking for a panoramic sunroof and ventilated front seats together narrows a seven-seat MUV to one variant, and rarely the one the sunroof arrives on. The Maruti Suzuki Invicto Alpha Plus 7S at Rs 28,70,500 is the cheapest seven-seater with a published variant price that has both, because Maruti puts the two features on the same trim. The Toyota Innova Hycross needs the ZX at Rs 31,20,000, a full Rs 2,43,000 above the VX(O) that already has the sunroof. The Kia Carens Clavis is cheaper than either, but only as a turbo-petrol HTX+, and Kia does not publish that variant's price.

On three of the five mainstream MUVs here, the roof and the seat ventilation sit on different trims. A car can be a seven-seater with a panoramic sunroof and still have no seat cooling at all, which is what catches buyers out: model-level feature lists never say which trim gets what.

What counts as a panoramic sunroof here

Each maker's own word for the roof decides whether its car is on this list. If the brochure says panoramic, the car qualifies; if it describes something else, it does not, even where the glass area is large. That rule keeps out the Kia Carnival and the Vellfire, both covered below, and lets the BYD eMAX 7 in, because BYD's heading reads "Panoramic Glass Roof with Electric Slide". Ventilated front seats means perforated seats with a fan, listed by the maker. Seat heating is not the same thing and is not required.

Prices are ex-showroom, read on 15 October 2026 from each maker's own site. Toyota's is from its price list tool for a Delhi dealer, the only place Toyota publishes a number. Features by variant are from each maker's current brochure.

The gap between the two middle columns is the useful part. On the Invicto and the eMAX 7 it is zero. On the Hycross it is two grades and Rs 2,43,000. On the petrol Clavis it is two trims, and on the Clavis EV three.

How we built this list and what we could not check

A car is here if its maker's brochure shows a panoramic roof and ventilated front seats on the same orderable variant, and that variant can be had with seven seats. We then took that variant's price from the maker's own website and nowhere else. Cars are listed cheapest first. We have not ranked them on comfort, because a Rs 20 lakh turbo-petrol and a Rs 80 lakh electric limousine are not on anybody's same shortlist.

Three things we could not confirm. Kia puts its variant prices behind a configurator we could not read, though the petrol Clavis tops out at Rs 21,78,900, so the HTX+ turbo is at or under that. BYD's brochure confirms both features for the eMAX 7 but ties neither to a trim, and BYD's India site did not serve us a price table on 15 October 2026. And we have not tested any of these seats: no brochure gives a fan-speed count or any measure of how much cooling you get.

Range figures for the electric cars are on different cycles, MIDC for Kia and MG and NEDC for BYD, so they are not comparable.

Maruti Suzuki Invicto Alpha Plus 7S

The Invicto is the simplest car here to shop for, because there is nothing to work out. Maruti's brochure grid has two columns, Zeta+ and Alpha+, and both "Panoramic Sunroof with Ambient Lights" and "Ventilated Front Seats" show a dash under Zeta+ and a tick under Alpha+.

Invicto variantSeatsEx-showroom pricePanoramic sunroofVentilated front seats
Zeta Plus 7S7Rs 25,02,400NoNo
Zeta Plus 8S8Rs 25,37,300NoNo
Alpha Plus 7S7Rs 28,70,500YesYes

So one variant, Rs 3,68,100 above the base car, and no way to buy either feature on its own. What the same step adds, from the same grid: leatherette seats, an 8-way power driver's seat with memory, a one-touch powered tailgate, automatic climate control as a second zone for the rear rather than the Zeta+'s blower control, a 360 view camera, parking sensors at both ends, a tyre pressure monitor and the larger 25.65 cm touchscreen.

Mechanically the variants are identical: a 1,987 cc petrol engine and motor giving 139 kW (188.9 PS) through an e-CVT, 22.16 km/l certified on every variant, a 52 litre tank, six airbags, and a 5-star Bharat NCAP rating.

The honest weaknesses: there is no driver assistance package on any Invicto, not even on this Rs 28.70 lakh variant, while both Kias and the BYD offer one lower down their ranges. And the eight-seat layout exists only on the Zeta Plus, so an eight-seat Invicto has neither the roof nor the cooled seats.

Kia Carens Clavis HTX+ turbo-petrol

The cheapest route to both features, if you can live without a published price.

Kia's 2026 brochure introduces the Dual Pane Panoramic Sunroof at the HTK+ (O), and marks it for the G1.5T turbo-petrol specifically. The same trim with the diesel gets the smaller Sky Light electric sunroof instead. Front ventilated seats then arrive two trims later at the HTX+, together with a 4-way powered driver's seat and rain-sensing wipers.

Because the HTX+ builds on everything below it, the HTX+, GTX+ and X-Line all have both, and Kia's powertrain table restricts those three to the turbo-petrol, so the diesel and the naturally aspirated petrol cannot be configured this way at any price.

The HTX+ comes as a six-speed manual or iMT in seven-seat form, or a seven-speed DCT with six or seven seats. That manual is the only way here to combine a panoramic roof, cooled seats, seven seats and a clutch pedal.

The turbo engine makes 117.5 kW and 253 Nm. Six airbags, ESC, all-wheel disc brakes and a tyre pressure monitor are standard across the Clavis range, and the DCT versions of the HTX+ add Level 2 driver assistance. Kia prints no certified fuel-efficiency figure in the brochure, and will not tell you what the HTX+ costs without a dealer visit.

Kia Carens Clavis EV HTX+ ER

The electric Clavis spreads the two features further apart than any other car here. The Dual Pane Panoramic Sunroof appears at the HTX E, the second trim from the bottom. Front ventilated seats wait until the HTX+ ER, three steps higher, where they come with the 4-way power driver's seat, a Bose eight-speaker system and vehicle-to-load.

That means the HTX+ ER, GTX+ ER and X-Line ER qualify, all using the 51.4 kWh Extended Range battery with a 126 kW motor and a claimed 490 km on the MIDC cycle. Each can be ordered with six or seven seats, and Level 2 assistance and a 360 degree camera start lower down at the HTX, so they are included.

Kia's page confirms a Rs 18,03,900 start for the base HTK+ and stops there. The HTK+ happens to be the one trim with neither feature, so that number tells you very little.

Toyota Innova Hycross ZX

This is the car the two-trim gap costs the most on.

Toyota's grid shows the Panoramic Sun Roof with a cross against the G-SLF, GX, GX(O) and VX, and a tick against the VX(O), ZX and ZX(O). The front seats are described three ways down the range, and only the last description, "Ventilated, Separate Seats with Slide & Recline, Driver Seat Height Adjust", applies to the ZX and ZX(O).

Hycross gradeEx-showroom price, DelhiPanoramic sunroofVentilated front seats
Hybrid VX(O) 7SRs 28,77,000YesNo
Hybrid ZXRs 31,20,000YesYes
Hybrid ZX(O)Rs 31,84,000YesYes

Rs 2,43,000 separates the VX(O) from the ZX. You are not paying that for seat ventilation alone, to be fair to Toyota: the same step brings powered ottoman second-row seats, an 8-way driver's seat with memory, quilted perforated art leather in place of fabric, a power back door, a genuine second climate zone and a nine-speaker JBL system. Toyota Safety Sense is held back one grade further.

Toyota rates the hybrid system at 139 kW (183.7 HP) with a 22.16 km/l claim. Six airbags are standard and Bharat NCAP rated the Hycross 5 stars. Toyota publishes prices only through a dealer-specific tool, so the figures above are Delhi numbers and move a little by state.

BYD eMAX 7 Superior

BYD's brochure gives the eMAX 7 front ventilated seats and a panoramic glass roof with electric slide over a 1.42 square metre glazed area. The 150 kW motor makes 310 Nm, the Blade battery holds 71.8 kWh, and BYD claims 530 km on the NEDC cycle and a 0 to 80 percent charge in 37 minutes. Six airbags are standard.

What the brochure does not do is assign either feature to a trim, and BYD's India site would not give us its specification or price table on the day we checked. We are not going to print a trim price we could not read, so ask for the specification sheet in writing.

At the top of the market

The MG M9 has both features standard because there is only one variant to buy. MG Select lists the Presidential Limousine at Rs 79.94 lakh, and the brochure describes a split roof, single-pane electric at the front and panoramic dual-pane at the rear, with ventilation, heating and massage for front and rear seats. It is a 90 kWh electric seven-seater claiming 548 km on the MIDC cycle. Whether it belongs in the same conversation as a Rs 28 lakh Invicto is a separate question, and the answer is probably not.

What we ruled out, and why

Two cars have the cooled seats but the wrong roof. The Kia Carnival ventilates and heats its front and second-row seats, which almost nothing else manages, at Rs 59,64,900 for its single Limousine Plus variant. But Kia calls the roof a "Wide Dual Electric Sunroof", not a panoramic one, and two panels is a different thing from one large pane. The Toyota Vellfire is the same story: its India brochure describes an independently operable dual sunroof and lists no ventilated seats at all. We would rather leave both off than reclassify a maker's own description, though we would understand a buyer disagreeing on the Carnival.

Four more fail on the roof before the seats are a question. The Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, Toyota Rumion and Renault Triber have no sunroof on any variant. Nor does the Toyota Innova Crysta, including its ZX at Rs 26,96,000, which makes it the most expensive sunroof-free MUV on sale.

Why you would want both rather than either

The two features work on the same problem from opposite ends. A large glass roof lets in more heat along with more light, and the seat fans pull heat out of the one place air conditioning struggles to reach. Buying the roof without the cooled seats, which is what three of the five cars here will sell you, leaves you the heat load and none of the offset.

Frequently asked questions

Which 7-seater MUV has both features for the lowest price?

The Maruti Suzuki Invicto Alpha Plus 7S at Rs 28,70,500, among cars whose maker publishes a price for the qualifying variant. The Kia Carens Clavis HTX+ turbo-petrol is cheaper in absolute terms, since the Clavis range stops at Rs 21,78,900, but Kia publishes no price for that variant.

Does the Maruti Invicto Zeta Plus have a panoramic sunroof?

No. Neither Zeta Plus variant has the panoramic sunroof or the ventilated front seats. Both features are on the Alpha Plus 7S only, which costs Rs 3,68,100 more than the Zeta Plus 7S.

Which Toyota Innova Hycross variant has both?

The ZX at Rs 31,20,000 and the ZX(O) at Rs 31,84,000, ex-showroom for a Delhi dealer. The VX(O) at Rs 28,77,000 has the panoramic sunroof but the brochure gives it no ventilated seats.

Can I get a panoramic sunroof and ventilated seats on an 8-seater?

Not from the brochures we read. The Invicto's eight-seat layout exists only on the Zeta Plus, which has neither, and the Hycross eight-seat option stops at the VX(O), which has the roof but not the cooled seats.

Is the Kia Carens Clavis diesel available with the panoramic sunroof?

No. Kia marks the Dual Pane Panoramic Sunroof against the 1.5 turbo-petrol only. The diesel and the naturally aspirated petrol get the smaller Sky Light electric sunroof instead.

The MG M9 lists ventilation for front and rear seats. The Kia Carnival ventilates and heats its second row, but its roof is a dual sunroof, so it is not on the main list. On the Clavis, Clavis EV, Invicto, eMAX 7 and Hycross the brochures list ventilation for the front seats only.

For the wider picture on each feature on its own, we have separate lists of 7-seater MUVs with ventilated front seats and MPVs with a panoramic sunroof under Rs 30 lakh.
