SUVs With a Head-Up Display Under Rs 12 Lakh in India (2026)
The price that decides this list is the price of the variant that carries the display, not the model's entry price. The Fronx starts at Rs 6,89,900 and the Brezza at Rs 7,49,900, but the display arrives only at Fronx Alpha (Rs 10,60,900), Brezza ZXi+ (Rs 11,25,900 as the turbo manual) and Taisor V (Rs 11,36,000). The Fronx Alpha automatic at Rs 11,88,900 is the only automatic under the ceiling; the Taisor V automatic at Rs 12,78,000 and the Brezza ZXi+ automatic at Rs 13,54,900 both break it. The Brezza is the only one of the three with a Bharat NCAP rating, 5 stars at 30.41 of 32, and that rating excludes the S-CNG.
Three SUVs in India give you a head-up display for less than Rs 12 lakh, and all three make you buy the top trim to get it. The cheapest is the Maruti Fronx Alpha manual at Rs 10,60,900, then the Maruti Brezza ZXi+ turbo manual at Rs 11,25,900, then the Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor V turbo manual at Rs 11,36,000. All three run the same 1.0-litre Boosterjet turbo petrol, which tells you how narrow this corner of the market still is.
The number that matters here is not the model's starting price. It is the price of the one variant that actually carries the display. The Fronx starts at Rs 6,89,900 and the Brezza at Rs 7,49,900, but neither of those cars has a head-up display, and nothing between those prices and the figures above does either.
The three that qualify
| SUV | Variant with the head-up display | Price of that variant | Full range | Engine on that variant |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Maruti Fronx | Alpha 1.0 Turbo 5MT | Rs 10,60,900 | Rs 6,89,900 to Rs 11,88,900 | 1.0 Boosterjet turbo, 73.6 kW (100.06 PS) |
| Maruti Brezza | ZXi+ 1.0 Turbo 6MT | Rs 11,25,900 | Rs 7,49,900 to Rs 13,54,900 | 1.0 K10C DiTC turbo, 81 kW (110.12 PS) |
| Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor | V 1.0 Turbo MT | Rs 11,36,000 | Rs 7,43,000 to Rs 12,78,000 | 1.0 turbo, 73.6 kW (100.06 PS) |
All prices are ex-showroom and for single-tone paint, read on 15 October 2026 from Maruti's own ex-showroom price feed and Toyota's Delhi price list. Dual-tone paint adds Rs 14,000 on the Fronx Alpha and Rs 16,000 on the Taisor V, which is why Maruti's own Fronx header reads Rs 6.90 lakh to Rs 12.03 lakh. Confirm the figure for your city with a dealer.
One automatic also slips under the ceiling: the Fronx Alpha AT at Rs 11,88,900. The Brezza ZXi+ automatic and the Taisor V automatic both break it, which is covered further down.
How the list was built
A head-up display had to be listed against a named variant in the manufacturer's own brochure feature grid. Marketing pages and spec aggregators were not used, because the thing that goes wrong in these lists is almost always the variant mapping rather than the model.
The price used is the price of that variant, not the model's entry price, and it is the single-tone figure. SUVs here means the five-seat crossovers and compact SUVs sold as SUVs by their makers. Hatchbacks are a separate question, and the Baleno and Glanza answer it.
Maruti Fronx Alpha, Rs 10,60,900
The Fronx has the cheapest head-up display of any SUV on sale in India, and it is a combiner unit rather than a projection onto the windscreen itself. Maruti's feature grid puts it in the Alpha column and leaves it blank for Sigma, Delta, Delta+ and Zeta. The 360 view camera sits in the same column, so the two arrive together or not at all.
The Alpha runs the 1.0-litre Boosterjet turbo, 73.6 kW (100.06 PS) at 5,500 rpm and 147.6 Nm from 2,000 to 4,500 rpm, with a five-speed manual claiming 21.5 km/l or a six-speed automatic claiming 20.01 km/l. Boot space is 308 litres and the tank holds 37 litres.
Six airbags, electronic stability programme and hill hold are standard from the base Sigma, so the Alpha is not where the safety hardware starts. What it adds over the Zeta is the display, the 360 camera, the auto-dimming mirror and the LED multi-reflector headlamps.
The gap worth knowing about: there is no sunroof on any Fronx, no driver assistance of any kind, and no Bharat NCAP or Global NCAP result for the India-built car. A Japan-market Fronx scored four stars under Japan NCAP and an Australasian-market car scored one, and neither of those tells you anything reliable about the car sold here.
Maruti Brezza ZXi+ turbo, Rs 11,25,900
The Brezza's head-up display is a ZXi+ feature, and the brochure attaches no engine condition to that row. The catch is in the variant ladder rather than the feature list. Maruti builds the ZXi+ in exactly two forms: the 1.0 turbo six-speed manual at Rs 11,25,900 and the 1.5 six-speed automatic at Rs 13,54,900. There is no ZXi+ with the 1.5 manual and no ZXi+ CNG. So the turbo manual is the only Brezza under Rs 12 lakh with the display, not because the display is tied to the turbo but because the cheaper ZXi+ happens to be the turbo one.
That same ZXi+ step brings the 360 view camera, the 25.65 cm touchscreen, the electric sunroof, ventilated front seats, blind spot warning, rear cross traffic alert and the auto-dimming mirror. It is a big jump in kit over the ZXi turbo at Rs 9,94,900.
The K10C DiTC turbo makes 81 kW (110.12 PS) at 5,500 rpm and 170 Nm from 2,000 to 3,500 rpm, and Maruti's Arena price page quotes 20.47 km/l. Worth noting that the Brezza brochure's specification sheet carries no fuel efficiency row at all, which is unusual for Maruti, so that figure comes off the price page rather than the PDF.
The Brezza also has something neither of the others does at this price: a 5-star Bharat NCAP rating, 30.41 of 32 for adults and 43 of 49 for children. Read the applicability note, though. Bharat NCAP extends that result to the 1.5 petrol manual and automatic and the 1.0 turbo manual, and not to the S-CNG.
Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor V turbo, Rs 11,36,000
The Taisor is the Toyota-badged Fronx, built in the same plant, and its head-up display lands in the same place: the top V grade on the 1.0 turbo, with a tick in the V column and dashes everywhere else. The 360 view camera is restricted the same way.
The V turbo manual is Rs 11,36,000 in Delhi. Toyota publishes a genuine variant-level price list, so this is a first-party number rather than a dealer estimate, which is more than can be said for most of the segment.
Mechanically it is the Fronx engine, 73.6 kW (100.06 PS) and 147.6 Nm, but Toyota certifies the fuel economy separately and the figures differ: 21.18 km/l for the five-speed manual and 19.86 km/l for the six-speed automatic, against the Fronx's 21.5 and 20.01. Side and curtain airbags are standard across the whole Taisor range, as is vehicle stability control and hill hold. Boot space is 308 litres.
Choosing between the Taisor V and the Fronx Alpha is mostly a question of which dealer network you want and which car you can get a better deal on. The Taisor costs Rs 75,100 more at manual-to-manual, and Toyota's standard warranty terms differ from Maruti's.
The SUVs that miss out, and one claim to ignore
| SUV | Head-up display? |
|---|---|
| Mahindra XUV 3XO | No, on any of its eleven variants |
| Hyundai Venue | No, on any variant |
| Hyundai Exter | No |
| Tata Nexon, Tata Punch | No |
| Kia Sonet, Kia Syros | No |
| Nissan Magnite, Renault Kiger | No |
| Citroen C3, Citroen Basalt | No |
| Maruti Jimny | No |
The XUV 3XO is the one to be careful about. It turns up at the top of these lists regularly, usually credited with a head-up display on an "MX2 Pro" trim around Rs 10 lakh. Mahindra's current XUV 3XO brochure lists no head-up display against any variant, and there is no MX2 Pro in the range at all. The trims are MX1, MX2, RevX M, RevX M (O), REVX Edge, REVX Edge (O), AX5, AX5L, REVX A, AX7 and AX7L. The 3XO does get a 360-degree camera with blind view monitor and Level 2 ADAS on AX5L and AX7L, so it is well equipped. It just does not have this feature.
The Hyundai Venue is the other one worth stating plainly. Hyundai's Venue brochure lists dual integrated displays and a 31.24 cm digital cluster, but no head-up display on any trim, including the top one.
The next step up, if you can stretch
| SUV | Variant with the display | Price | Over the ceiling by |
|---|---|---|---|
| Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor | V 1.0 Turbo AT | Rs 12,78,000 | Rs 78,000 |
| Maruti Brezza | ZXi+ 1.5 6AT | Rs 13,54,900 | Rs 1,54,900 |
| Maruti Grand Vitara | Alpha 1.5 5MT | Rs 15,21,600 | Rs 3,21,600 |
| Maruti Victoris | ZXi+ 1.5 5MT | Rs 15,38,900 | Rs 3,38,900 |
| Tata Sierra | Accomplished petrol MT | Rs 17,99,000 | Rs 5,99,000 |
| Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder | Hybrid V e-Drive | Rs 19,99,000 | Rs 7,99,000 |
If an automatic with a head-up display is the requirement and the Fronx Alpha AT does not suit, the Taisor V AT at Rs 12,78,000 is the next cheapest, and the Brezza ZXi+ AT after that. The Victoris is the only one of these that pairs the display with Level 2 ADAS, and even then only on the petrol automatic trims from Rs 17,33,900. Our head-up display SUVs under Rs 20 lakh list goes through that band in detail.
Tata's Sierra is the non-Maruti, non-Toyota option here at Rs 17,99,000. Its HypAR head-up display projects multicolour guides, and Tata's footnote is blunt that it is available on the Accomplished trim only, where it arrives with Level 2 ADAS and a twelve-speaker JBL system.
Kia fits a windscreen head-up display to the Seltos, but only on the GTX and X-Line automatics, which sit near Rs 20 lakh, and Kia publishes no variant-level price list of its own, so there is no first-party figure to quote for it.
What we could not verify
Mahindra publishes no head-up display in the XUV 3XO brochure, and we take the brochure as final on fitment. If Mahindra adds one through a running change, the brochure would be the first place it shows up.
Kia's Seltos price by trim is not published by Kia, so the Seltos is named above without a figure rather than with a dealer-sourced one.
Maruti's Brezza brochure has no fuel efficiency table, so the 20.47 km/l for the turbo comes from the Arena price page instead, and the Brezza's other engines are not quoted here at all.
Prices move. The Fronx Alpha manual was Rs 10,52,200 under its previous variant code and is Rs 10,60,900 under the current one, a reminder that an eight-month-old article on this subject will have the trim right and the price wrong.
Frequently asked questions
Which is the cheapest SUV in India with a head-up display?
The Maruti Fronx Alpha manual at Rs 10,60,900 ex-showroom. The Fronx Alpha automatic is Rs 11,88,900, and both are the 1.0-litre turbo. Nothing below the Alpha trim gets the display.
Does the Mahindra XUV 3XO have a head-up display?
No. Mahindra's current brochure lists the feature on none of the XUV 3XO's eleven variants, and the MX2 Pro trim that gets quoted alongside this claim does not exist in the range. The 3XO does offer Level 2 ADAS and a 360-degree camera with blind view monitor on the AX5L and AX7L.
Is the Brezza's head-up display limited to the turbo engine?
Not by the feature grid. The brochure ticks it for the ZXi+ with no engine condition. The reason you only see it on a turbo under Rs 12 lakh is that the ZXi+ comes in just two forms, the 1.0 turbo manual at Rs 11,25,900 and the 1.5 automatic at Rs 13,54,900.
Does the Hyundai Venue offer a head-up display?
No, not on any trim. Hyundai's Venue brochure lists a 31.24 cm digital cluster and dual integrated displays on the upper trims, and no head-up display anywhere.
Is the Toyota Taisor just a rebadged Fronx?
Mechanically, close to it. Same 1.0 turbo at 73.6 kW (100.06 PS) and 147.6 Nm, same 308-litre boot, same head-up display on the top grade. Toyota certifies its own fuel economy, and gets 21.18 km/l manual and 19.86 km/l automatic against the Fronx's 21.5 and 20.01. The V turbo manual costs Rs 75,100 more than the Fronx Alpha manual.
Which of these has a crash-test rating?
Only the Brezza, which holds 5 stars from Bharat NCAP at 30.41 of 32 for adults and 43 of 49 for children, covering the 1.5 petrol manual and automatic and the 1.0 turbo manual but not the S-CNG. The Fronx and the Taisor have no India-spec Bharat NCAP or Global NCAP result.
